Discover South Hutchinson Treasure Hunt Rules and Conditions
Rules
* The hunt is open to the public. A uniquely identified key will be hidden on public land in the city of South Hutchinson.
* By participating in this treasure hunt particpant agrees to the rules and conditions.
* If you find the key to the treasure chest, please promptly return it to the South Hutchinson Hall during regular business hours. The prize for finding the key to the treasure chest is $500 in cash plus other prizes from sponsoring partners. Offical prizes will be awarded during the April South Hutchinson Chamber meeting.
* Treasure Hunt clues will be published in the Bee weekly begnning March 1st until the prize is found. There will also be past clues listed on the South Hutchinson web site.
* To help with the treasure hunt, people can find bonus information in "business hints" To find this infromation, one local weekly in South Hutchinson will be handing out hints described in the clue for that week.
* The Market South Hutch group reserves the right to discontinue the hunt at any time if public property is destroyed.
* The key can be found without tresspassing, damaging or defacing land or property or otherwise violating any laws.
* Members of the Market South Hutchinson committee, Reno County Health Department Disease Risk Reduction staff, and staff at
the Bee are unable to paticipate or win the Discover South Hutchinson treasure Hunt contest.
General Conditions
* Individuals under the age of 18 must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to participate in the Discover South Hutch Treasure Hunt contest.
* Any income tax liabilty is the sole responsibilty of the winner
* All participants agree that all businesses and organizations involved includung but not limited to: Market South Hutch, Reno County Health Department, South Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, and the City of South Hutchinson will have no liability whatsoever, and will be held harmless by paticipants for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the prizes or participating in this contest.
* Except where legally prohibited, by accepting the prize, winner grants permission for Market South Hutch, Reno County Health Department, South Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, and the City of South Hutchinson, and those acting under its authority to use his or her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness for advertising and/or publicity without further compensation.
South Hutchinson Survey
A brief survey is being conducted in South Hutchinson.
Participants who complete the survery will be placed in a
drawing for promotioal incentives.

Historical Salt Discovery Site
The salt industry is one of the most important businesses in South Hutchinson and Hutchinson and will remain so for decades to come. The discovery site is located 1/4 mile west of Main St on DesMoines West in South Hutchinson, west of McDonalds
This is the site of "Salt Discovery Well", where in 1887 Ben Blanchard found salt,
you can view the uncovered well.
While in the area be sure to visit the "Kansas Underground Salt Museum"
Located on the corner of Airport Rd. and Avenue G, 1 mile north of Highway US50.
