Patrol

Organization
The South Hutchinson Police Department is comprised of eight full-time commissioned police officers. The Patrol Division is divided into two, two-man teams who work 12-hours shifts that are supervised by a patrol sergeant. We incorporate a variety of patrol tactics to include: ATV, bicycle, and vehicle patrols.

Duties & Responsibilities
Officers assigned to patrol are dispatched by 911 Emergency Communications and respond to emergencies and service calls. Each officer is assigned to a section of the city for community policing efforts and to make contact with business owners within their section. Officers are trained in a variety of areas in law enforcement and are encouraged to specialize in certain areas of interest.
